Marvin Schooley dreamt one night about ice fishing with a pole he had never seen before. The next day, he began to put together the first prototype of his Original Spring Bobber Pole. Ice fishing with family and friends became testing ground for his Spring Bobber Pole invention. Everyone was so amazed with his prototype. They began to ask him to make one for them. So, Mr. Schooley began to take request for his creation. With an entrepreneur spirit, Marvin Schooley applied for his first patent and formed an ice tackle business named Schooley Ice Tackle. During the 1960's Mr. Schooley made improvements to his Spring Bobber Pole and developed more ice fishing tackle for his clientele. These years mark the birth of several new products.
